Job summary

North American Recycling (NAR) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate forklifts, loaders and material handlers in the yard, loading and unloading scrap metal while keeping the area organized.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of heavy equipment operating experience, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions. PTO accrual starts day one and a competitive benefits package is offered.

  • Inspect equipment before each use to ensure it runs safely and effectively.

  • Master the Yard: From forklifts to material handlers, you'll operate it all. And you'll help others become master alike.

  • Captain of Organization: Keeping our yard shipshape is your mission. Your knack for efficiency will shine as you optimize our material storage systems.

  • Customer Champion: A friendly attitude is your secret weapon. You'll assist customers, work to meet their needs, and leave them smiling.

  • Inspection Machine: You will inspect your equipment before every use to unsure the equipment is running optimally.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1-2 years of heavy equipment operating experience such as front-end loaders, excavators, etc.

  • A passion for staying organized and getting things done.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Physical strength to handle up to 50 pounds and perform various tasks.


Work Schedule:


  • 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Saturday and Sunday off for a work-life balance.
