Job summary

Reeves Young LLC in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Full-Time Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain machinery at construction sites, digging and moving earth. You will transport materials, perform street work, and coordinate with the crew while upholding safety standards.

You must be trained in safety procedures and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with the ability to follow directions and work independently on schedule.

Qualifications

• Must possess knowledge of heavy equipment operation techniques involved in moving earth, grading, digging and lifting.
• Skilled in heavy equipment operation and safe handling of machinery.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and follow safety procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to follow directions closely.
• Able to work independently and maintain a schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as water trucks, excavators, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors and other pieces of equipment.
• Transports and delivers materials to various destinations at the job site.
• Performs street maintenance and excavation work.
• Services and performs general and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Checks equipment fluid levels daily.
• Installs and maintains signs and fencing.
• Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Cleans heavy equipment as needed.
• Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Advises the foreman of maintenance or repair needs.
• Coordinates work with pipelayer and laborer positions.
• Responsible for safety of individuals in the trench.
