Job summary

Capital Waste Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate machinery at our recycling center or transfer station. The role includes performing pre/post inspections, loading and compacting waste, and ensuring equipment readiness.

You will monitor waste streams and assist with basic maintenance while following strict safety policies. The ideal candidate has at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong emphasis on reliability and customer

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste streams and identify unacceptable waste.
• Perform minor routine maintenance and document issues in the Equipment Condition Report.
• Follow all safety policies and keep the shop clean after shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
