Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; vocational training or diesel mechanics certification is preferred.
• Class A CDL is preferred but not required; candidate must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Compliance with Texas regulations for heavy equipment operators, including endorsements for specific machinery.
• Background check, MVR check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical examination are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, trenchers, cranes) to support utility projects.
• Prepare job sites by clearing debris, grading, trenching and other site tasks.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure equipment is operated within guidelines.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance; report issues to supervisor.
• Assist with loading, transporting equipment, and maintaining accurate records of usage and maintenance.
