Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator in Kingdom City, MO to safely run excavators, plows, dozers, trenchers, skid steers, and hydro-vacs on underground utility projects.

You will perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and related tasks, read maps and blueprints, and maintain daily logs while upholding OSHA and DOT safety standards. A valid Class A CDL and background/drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience in utility construction or a related field.
• Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read utility maps, blueprints, and job plans.
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, plows, dozers, trenchers, skid steers, and hydro-vacs.
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and other utility installation work.
• Load, unload, inspect, and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Identify and work safely around existing underground utilities.
• Read and interpret utility maps, construction plans, and job layouts.
• Complete equipment inspections, daily logs, and job documentation.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures and participate in jobsite safety meetings.
• Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and crew members.
• Assist and mentor laborers as needed.
