Job summary

Bethlehem Sewerage & Excavating Ser in Alaska seeks a Hands-on Heavy Equipment Operator / Team Lead. You will operate heavy equipment, drive commercial vehicles, and guide a small field crew. The role requires safety-minded teamwork and physical stamina.

Candidates should have manual transmission experience, the ability to operate mini excavators, skid steers and backhoes, and a CDL Class A with medical card. Plumbing experience is a plus, and tasks include loading trucks and basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have manual transmission experience; tested prior to employment.
• Able to safely operate mini excavators, skid steer, and backhoe.
• Able to trailer equipment to job site and safely pick up loads or dump off fill at quarries.
• Valid CDL Class A Pennsylvania driver’s license and medical card.
• Some plumbing experience helpful.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Positive attitude, work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Good listening skills, follows directions, asks questions for clarifications.
• Positive, 'can do' and willing to learn attitude a must.
• Professional and drug-free in customer facing position.
• Safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment according to instructions or job plan.
• Load and unload dump trucks.
• Perform basic maintenance such as checking fluids and greasing on equipment.
• Inspects equipment and notifies management of repairs needed.
• Tows equipment to job site (with valid CDL).
• Drives CDL/Non-CDL equipment for job supplies (includes dump trucks and pickups).
• Must be of good health and physical condition for manual labor and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Ability to operate standard hand tools used in construction and excavating environment.
• Ability to dig and jackhammer in small spaces such as basements and crawlspaces.
• Contributes to team accountabilities by accomplishing other tasks as needed.
• Understand and follow all company policies and safety regulations.
• Must be reliable to accomplish tasks both independently and in a team environment.
