Job summary

Carrollwood Farms is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for its Sitework & Grading team in Sandy Ridge, NC. The role involves operating a wide range of heavy equipment on large-scale projects, following direction from the Superintendent, and contributing to land development and erosion control tasks.

Requirements include a minimum of five years in commercial sitework and grading, ability to work across multiple equipment types, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of commercial sitework and grading experience, including roadways or commercial construction.
• Ability to operate a wide range of equipment from skid steers to large excavators and dozers.
• Proficiency in establishing and working to grade, including shooting grade and setting grade stakes.
• Strong understanding of excavation, hauling, grading, and land development principles.
• Experience with erosion control methods and practices.
• Valid driver's license; Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a skilled grading team under the Superintendent's direction.
• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (dozers, loaders, excavators, off-road trucks, compactors, skid steers, water trucks, backhoes, motor graders, mini-excavators).
• Contribute to land development tasks such as ponds, roads, building pads, site development, erosion control.
• Assist in building trails during winter months, including use of chainsaws.
• Operate forestry head as required, self-propelled or on equipment.
• Perform duties across sitework and grading as requested by ownership.
• Maintain equipment daily (greasing and cleaning).
