Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our grading and utility operations team in North Carolina. This expert-level role requires 5+ years of experience or over 10,000 hours operating heavy equipment, and involves finish grading and sitework.

You will operate excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, skid steers, and trenching equipment, interpret grade stakes and GPS grade control, and mentor less experienced operators while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years or 10,000+ hours of heavy equipment operation in grading/utility construction.
• Proven ability to perform finish grade and fine grade work.
• Strong understanding of elevations, slopes, blueprints, and grade control.
• Ability to operate multiple equipment types at high skill level.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for grading and site work with minimal supervision.
• Perform finish grade and fine grade work for grading and utilities.
• Interpret grade stakes and GPS grade control.
• Lead by example in production, quality, safety.
• Mentor less experienced operators and assist foremen on site.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA / company policies.
