Job summary

Tjader & Highstrom Utility Services LLC is seeking an entry-level Field Operator in New Richmond, WI. You will operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, trackhoes, skid steers, loaders, plows, bore machines, and more, while following safety rules and procedures.

A sign-on bonus of $1,000 is offered if you stay 6 months (paid as $500 after 3 months and $500 after 6 months). Must have at least 6 months of experience or training, be able to pass a drug test, and obtain CDL Class A if not already

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) months' experience or training.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Knowledge of safety systems for equipment operation.
• Knowledge of loading, unloading and transport procedures for equipment.
• Knowledge of compaction requirements for ground conditions or customer needs.
• Knowledge of proper daily maintenance on equipment.
• Knowledge of care of equipment including hours of service requirements.
• Knowledge of support equipment operation, digging equipment, reel trailers, backhoes, plows and trenchers.
• Must have or be able to obtain CDL Class A.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates equipment on jobsite.
• Safely identifies utilities in the construction area.
• Dig pits, trenches or potholes as directed by job plan.
• Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the jobsite.
• Demonstrates job skill, procedures and techniques to crew members.
• Responsible for site set-up and clean-up.
• Follows all safety rules at all times.
• Attends and participates in safety meetings and training.
• Uses prescribed safety equipment.
• Reports unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor or Safety Personnel.
• Reports injuries, accidents and/or incidents immediately.
• Occasionally performs laborer duties when operating duties are completed.
• Other duties as assigned.
