Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable; Class A CDL highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy and light construction equipment safely.
  • Maintain equipment and perform inspections before and after use.
  • Comply with safety standards and assist in ensuring projects are completed on time.
  • Assist Foreman to ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Notify foreman of unanticipated field changes and suggest alternatives.
  • Document deficiencies in safety practices/equipment to foreman or Construction Manager.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment before and after use; check fluids and tires.
  • Drive trucks and equipment to job sites.
  • Assist in preparing reports on project status and crew activities; may perform other administrative tasks.
  • Assist in coordinating confined-space entry per safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This individual is responsible for operating heavy and light construction equipment, including backhoes, front-end loaders, air compressors, skid steers, drill rigs, trenchers, hydraulic reel trailers and other types of machinery, and ensuring preventative maintenance of these, as required. This role will be working in and reporting directly to Beaver Dam, WI.

Job Responsibilities
  • Dig /drill holes and trenches using power equipment
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, and OSHA safety standards
  • Abide by construction codes and standards
  • Assist Foreman in ensuring jobs are completed on time
  • Notify foreman of unanticipated field changes and suggest possible alternatives

Document deficiencies in safety practices/equipment to foreman or Construction Manager

  • Maintain an open and professional demeanor with fellow employees and customers
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to and after use, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure, to ensure their safe and proper operation
  • Drive trucks and equipment to job sites
  • Assist in preparing reports on project status and crew activities. May perform other administrative work as required utilizing computer or laptop and integrated software
  • Assist in coordinating and performing confined space entry in compliance with approved departmental policy and industry approved safety procedures in designated confined spaces
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Qualifications

Prior related experience is preferred, including working knowledge of hand tools, various power tools and backhoe operation

Ability to read and understand prints, maps and construction plans

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Some out of town travel and occasional night work may be required

Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Class A CDL highly preferred
