Job summary

Beatrice Sand & Gravel, a NEBCO Company, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to support production at our Nebraska pits. You will operate rubber tire loaders, excavators, dredges and other equipment, while maintaining safety standards and housekeeping practices.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and prior heavy equipment experience; a valid driver’s license is required and certification on heavy equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, and previous heavy equipment operating experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and be insurable under the company insurance program.
• Must be capable of becoming certified on heavy equipment.
• Flexibility to work busy seasons and late or irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Operates plant and mobile equipment to support production and sales functions at plant site.
• Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, moves levers, turns steering wheel to operate equipment.
• Maintains plant site, equipment and shop according to safety standards and good housekeeping.
• Checks brakes, tires, engine oil, etc., daily and completes inspection sheets.
