Job summary

Midwest Salt's Grit One port operation in Chicago seeks a heavy equipment operator. You will run wheel loaders, Sennebogen material handlers, conveyors, and related equipment to unload vessels, stockpile salt, blend materials, and move product to customers.

With 2+ years of experience, you will follow maintenance guidelines, meet production targets, and cover for teammates when needed, while staying safety-conscious and proactive about improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years operating heavy equipment.
• Reliable transportation to our port facility.

Responsibilities

• Run heavy equipment safely and within spec.
• Hit production targets and keep product moving.
• Follow care and maintenance instructions so the equipment stays running.
• Cover other roles when teammates are out.
• Own your numbers and know where you stand.
• Speak up when you see a safer or better way to do something.
