Job summary

Detroit Salt Company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Haul Truck Driver) to transport salt and other materials within the mine. The role requires loading, hauling, and unloading materials underground while adhering to safety regulations and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment in mining or industrial settings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
• Able to pass physical and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul truck and other heavy equipment underground safely.
• Load, haul, and unload materials and maintain equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance and assist with repairs.
• Keep accurate mining records and paperwork.
• Follow MSHA rules and safety procedures.
• Communicate safety and production concerns to supervision.
• Cross-train and multi-task across equipment.
