Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Falls County seeks an Equipment Operator I to operate a range of heavy machinery for road maintenance and construction. The role requires safe operation, reporting, and adherence to regulations to keep Texas roads in top condition.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license (CDL with N endorsement within 90 days) and one year of equipment operation experience.

Qualifications

• Education: No education required.
• Experience: 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.
• Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications: Substitutions for minimum qualifications are allowed.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Texas Commercial Driver's License with
• Must have a valid Texas CDL for equipment operation and obtain N endorsement within 90 days from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic control and accident site support.
• Operate light and heavy equipment as needed for road maintenance.
• Monitor and complete maintenance reports and PMI checklists.
• May train other employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Work in various weather and emergency conditions as required.
