Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Waco District is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the Falls County Maintenance Section in Marlin, TX. You will operate a variety of heavy machinery to support road maintenance and construction projects, ensuring safety and quality of transportation infrastructure.

The role requires 1 year of equipment operation experience and a valid Texas CDL with the required endorsements.

Qualifications

One year of experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as tractor-trailer haul truck, motor grader, excavator, bulldozer, crane, herbicide truck, asphalt paver, paving machine and dump truck.
Assist in traffic control; set up and remove cones, signs, and barricades; direct traffic as needed.
Maintain accurate timekeeping, equipment forms, inventory, and PMI checklists.
Perform light equipment operations (front-end loader, roller, broom, spreader, backhoe, street sweeper).
Relocate equipment on haul trailers; ensure secure loading according to laws and standards.
Provide training to others on equipment operation and safety procedures.
Respond to emergencies and support road maintenance during floods, storms, or incidents.
