The Texas Department of Transportation's Gruver maintenance team is seeking an Equipment Operator I to join our crew. This full-time role emphasizes safe operation of heavy and light highway equipment, adherence to traffic control standards, and reliable maintenance of equipment records.

You will work in Gruver, TX, supporting local law enforcement at accident sites, coordinating daily assignments, and mentoring colleagues on safety procedures and proper equipment use.

Competenze

• No education required.
• 1 year experience in maintenance and/or construction equipment operation. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
• Must have a valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver's License for equipment operation at time of application.
• Must have or obtain a Tanker endorsement within 120 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Assist with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades; flags traffic.
• Operate heavy and light equipment as assigned.
• Maintain reports: time-keeping, PMI, inventory, accident forms, and records work in progress.
• Coordinate daily equipment operations and supervise work crew if assigned.
• Train other employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Respond to emergencies (floods, storms, accidents) and perform related tasks.
