Job summary

MSCCN is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support on-site missions at Fort Carson. The role involves loading, unloading, transporting and repositioning military equipment and cargo using heavy machinery and forklifts, with adherence to safety rules and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the lead or Transportation Manager, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate movement records.

Qualifications

• Must have one-year experience operating commercial vehicles.
• Knowledge of safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Familiar with basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Update Heavy Equipment Lead/Transportation Manager on missions and equipment status.
• Unload/load vehicles from carriers promptly to avoid detention charges.
• Record turn-in vehicles per standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Verify materials against receiving documents and store materials per plan.
• Prepare vehicles for operation via pre-trip inspections.
• Operate non-tactical and tactical military equipment as required.
• Transport Government property to storage, maintenance, and disposal locations.
• Comply with installation and Fort Carson rules; wear seatbelts and PPE.
• Maintain mileage, tonnage, and movement records for reports.
• Perform warehouse duties as assigned and assist with maintenance.
