Job summary

Foley Materials Company in Montgomery, AL is hiring for an Entry Level Heavy Equipment Operator. You will operate haul trucks, loaders, excavators and dozers to mine and move material while upholding all safety standards and reporting any issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction/mining equipment – 1-2 years.
• Experience operating a haul truck or loader – 1-2 years.
• Willing to work overtime and extended hours as production requires.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical maintenance on excavator and other heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety on the job in line with MSHA and company standards.
• Operate off-road heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, and dozers to mine and move material and maintain haul roads.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Monitor the plant and operations and report any unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• In accordance with MSHA and Company standards, take aproactive role in prioritizing safety on the job for yourself and others.
• Operate off road heavy equipment including haul trucks,loaders, excavators, dozers, to mine and move material andmaintain haul roads

Experience and Skills:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Physical Requirements:

• Work up to 12 hour shift
• Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework,equipment, stairs, ladders, etc.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feelobjects on a frequent basis
• Must be able to comply will all safety standards and procedures
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on afrequent basis
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)(including but not limited to hard hat, steel toed boots, gloves,safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
• Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
