Job summary

Foley Materials Company is seeking entry-level Equipment Operators to join our growing team in Alabama. You will operate heavy construction/mining equipment and haul trucks, prioritizing safety and efficiency to support plant operations and project timelines.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, basic maintenance, and collaboration with team members. A strong safety mindset and willingness to work overtime are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction/mining equipment (1–2 years).
• Experience operating a haul truck or loader is required (1–2 years).
• Willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on production need.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical maintenance on excavator and other heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other team members.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety on the job for yourself and others.
• Operate off-road heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers to mine and move material and maintain haul roads.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Monitor the plant and operations and report any unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, necessary maintenance, etc.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and project timelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Work up to 12 hour shift
• Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework,equipment, stairs, ladders, etc.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feelobjects on a frequent basis
• Must be able to comply will all safety standards and procedures
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on afrequent basis
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)(including but not limited to hard hat, steel toed boots, gloves,safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
• Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
