Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment utilized in Mining.

The equipment operator will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in the quarry, including the water truck, haul truck, dozers, loaders, and excavators. Greensboro Portable Plant.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment within company guidelines and safety standards.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections of working areas and ensure berms and roadways are adequate.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance—check tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses and all moving parts.
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Aid in training of co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
