Martin Marietta is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely run mobile heavy equipment from the pit to plant and stockpiles. The role emphasizes a Safety First mindset, cross-functional duties, and active involvement in maintenance and site housekeeping.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical aptitude, and MSHA compliance awareness; prior heavy equipment experience in mining or quarry work is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant experience.
• Technical training preferred.
• No experience required; 6 months – 1 year of Heavy Equipment operation experience in Mining/Quarry/Construction preferred.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate entry-to-mid-level mobile equipment, including Haul Trucks (off-road), Water Trucks, and Front-End Loaders.
• Transport raw materials from the pit to the crusher and move finished aggregate to stockpiles.
• Maintain stockpile integrity and prevent material contamination.
• Operate water trucks for dust control and maintain berms, ramps, and traffic flow.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues.
• Assist mechanics with minor repairs and routine PM tasks.
• Follow SOPs to report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Comply with MSHA regulations and Martin Marietta safety policies.
• Support Guardian Angel safety program by identifying hazards and wearing PPE.
• Ensure operations meet environmental standards, especially dust control and spill prevention.
• Assist in general site cleanup and plant operations when not operating equipment.
