Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for work in open pit mining operations.

The ideal candidate will operate heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators and loaders and work under the supervision of a Foreman, ensuring safety and efficiency on site. Requirements include a minimum of three years of equipment operation experience, drug screen and background checks, ability to travel up to 80%, and willingness to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory requirements (OSHA/MSHA).
• Ability to work in a team in an open pit/mining environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and work odd hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes in pit/mining operations
• Report problems to the Foreman/manager and maintain a safe work environment
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with proper documentation
• Follow Foreman directions for daily tasks and project requirements
• Assist in training less-experienced employees and perform general labor as needed
