Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator on 1st Shift at the Cleveland, OH site. You will operate and maintain heavy equipment, load and move materials, and support safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Able to read, write and perform basic math.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Physically capable of outdoor work and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Background check and pre-employment screen required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment including CAT, Sennebogen and Liebherr.
• Load/unload materials from storage, docks or containers.
• Sort scrap metals to separate high‑grade metals and remove non‑conformers.
• Load baler and shredder using grapple or magnet.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, manlifts, street sweeper or water trucks.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and assist with maintenance.
• Direct equipment movement via hand signals or radio.
• Interact with customers or drivers to direct or assist them.
