Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Ohio is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely run bulldozers, excavators, backhoes and other machines. You’ll perform site preparation, earth moving, and waste handling while following safety rules.

Requires 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, passing equipment tests, and Hazardous Waste training within six months. This role offers full benefits and opportunities to work nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck or similar experience preferred.
• Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment.
• Hazardous waste management training must be completed within six months of employment or assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning of equipment.
• Operate equipment for site preparation, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Perform on-site roll off work and yard tractor operations as needed.
