Job summary

Clean Harbors in Buttonwillow, CA is seeking a Facility Equipment Operator to support operations within our hazardous waste landfill. The role involves safely operating heavy equipment, completing daily maintenance checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Dozer experience is highly preferred, with hands-on work on a D6 or D8 or equivalent. The position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits, with schedule Monday–Friday and opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Dozer experience (D6, D8, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Experience in landfill, grading, or similar environments a plus.
• Blade/motor grader experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following all policies, processes, and safe work practices
• Operate heavy equipment including: bulldozer, front‑end loader, excavator, track hoe, compactor, haul truck (CAT/Volvo), water truck, sweepers, and yard goat
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment
• Complete and submit required paperwork for waste tracking and operational activities
• Communicate any equipment issues immediately upon discovery
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations
