Job summary

Clean Harbors in Buttonwillow, CA is seeking a Facility Equipment Operator to support operations within our hazardous waste landfill. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, completing daily maintenance checks, and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Dozer experience is highly preferred for this role, with hands-on experience operating a D6, D8, or equivalent dozer being especially advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Dozer experience (D6, D8, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in landfill or similar environments a plus.
• Blade/motor grader experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following all policies, processes, and safe work practices
• Operate heavy equipment including: bulldozer, front‑end loader, excavator, track hoe, compactor, haul truck (CAT/Volvo), water truck, sweepers, and yard goat
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment
• Complete and submit required paperwork for waste tracking and operational activities
• Communicate any equipment issues immediately upon discovery
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations
