City of Portsmouth is seeking two Equipment Operators I to join the Water and Stormwater Division. These roles require operating heavy equipment and supporting vital city infrastructure outdoors.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate and maintain heavy equipment effectively and safely.
• CDL-B license required for new hires and incumbents.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to perform municipal maintenance and construction tasks.
• Assist with snow/ice control, street cleaning, and drainage projects.
• Excavate, trench, pave, and conduct grounds maintenance as assigned.
• Follow safety procedures and work under supervision as part of a City crew.
