Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Sr. Equipment Operator to maintain and improve the stormwater infrastructure, working outdoors in various weather conditions and traffic environments.

The role requires operating heavy equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting vegetation and drainage tasks. The position includes emergency call-back duties, a four-ten hour workweek, and potential for on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certifications are a plus.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tank Endorsement required.
• Experience operating motorized equipment and supervising crews is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and pre/post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Load/unload materials and assist with traffic control setups.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Respond to high priority calls and assist with vegetation maintenance tasks.
• Operate various heavy equipment and supervise crews when needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and stormwater maintenance protocols.
