Job summary

Eastern Florida State College on the Cocoa Campus seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator I to operate equipment such as dump trucks, frontend loaders with backhoes, track hoes, dozers, tractors with lowboys, graders and compactors. You will ensure equipment is in good working order and meets safety requirements.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED with two years’ experience in heavy equipment operation and the ability to obtain a Florida CDL Class A within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years’ experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Must obtain a Valid Florida CDL Class A within one year of hire.
• Ability to operate all types of heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of usage of college equipment.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to input/retrieve information from a computer.
• Valid Florida Driver’s license required.
• Fingerprinting may be required with a $36.00 fee.
