Job summary

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is hiring for a Full-time Heavy Equipment Operator I, II on Creek Turnpike in Tulsa, OK. The role operates power equipment for highway maintenance and repair and supports traffic control, signs, and barrier installations as part of a collaborative public-service team.

Compensation includes Level I at $20.50/hour ($42,630/year) and Level II at $23.77/hour ($49,455/year); promotion to Level II possible after CDL within the first 6 months based on experience

Qualifications

• Level I: Education and experience requirements at this level are none.
• Level II: One year of experience operating heavy equipment (preferably in road construction/maintenance) and a current Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and machinery such as trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, cranes, backhoes, and other equipment as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders or bridge decks as required.
• Repair and/or replace signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provide traffic control assistance using signs or flags to direct highway traffic.
