Job summary

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time role on the Creek Turnpike in Tulsa, OK. You will operate power equipment, perform maintenance, and assist in highway construction and repair tasks.

Level I offers hourly pay with annualized earnings around $42,630; Level II increases with CDL qualification within six months and experience. Work hours are 7:30am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment used in highway construction/maintenance.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Knowledge of traffic control while maintenance operations.
• CDL Class A license required within specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, and cranes.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders, signs, guardrails, and fences.
• Provide traffic control and apply herbicide on rights-of-way.
• Remove debris and hazards from roadways.
