Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, and front-end loaders on our grade crew in a fully onsite Chester, VA setting. This contract-to-hire role offers hands-on work with growth potential.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, basic maintenance, and completing grading tasks per project specs. Requires 2+ years of heavy equipment experience and a valid driver’s license; GPS experience is a plus. Pay ranges from $24.00–$29.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operation.
• 2-3+ years experience operating Excavators and Dozers.
• Experience in grading, rough and fine grading, and earthworks.
• Familiarity with GPS technology in construction.
• Drivers license and a working vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, debris, and materials.
• Use equipment to dig, level, and grade land according to project specifications.
• Clear land, remove obstacles, and ensure proper groundwork for construction.
• Load, transport, and distribute materials like dirt, gravel, and rock.
• Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance to keep machinery in top condition.
