Job summary

Caton Construction Group is seeking a heavy equipment operator for a bridge/roadway project in Catawba County (Hickory), NC. Starting pay is competitive and based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities include operating bulldozers, backhoes, road graders or front-end loaders, performing routine equipment maintenance, and ensuring safety on site. Normal hours are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., may require overtime, travel locally with possible overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years’ experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment.
• CDL license preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or front-end loader to move and grade dirt, dig trenches and hoist materials.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and report defects to supervisor.
• Follow safety and security standards in all duties.
