Job summary

Caton Construction Group is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators for a bridge/roadway project in Halifax County, Virginia. Start pay is competitive and based on skills and experience.

You will operate a variety of contractor equipment and perform daily maintenance to keep machinery in good working order. Responsibilities include moving dirt, digging ditches, grading, and hoisting materials with bulldozers, backhoes, graders, or loaders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and four years’ experience operating medium to heavy equipment.
• CDL license is preferred and helpful for local/over‑the‑road duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate a bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or front-end loader to move dirt and grade areas.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and report defects.
• Comply with safety and security standards in all tasks.
