Job summary

Caton Construction Group in Halifax County, Virginia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our bridge/roadway project. The role requires operating a bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or loader, with an emphasis on safety and daily equipment maintenance.

The position is full-time, typically Monday–Friday with overtime and potential overnight travel. A high school diploma and four years’ equipment experience are required; a CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of experience involving medium to heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or loader to move dirt and prepare sites.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety and security standards on all tasks.
