Job summary

Sundt Construction seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks and more. You’ll perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift walkarounds to ensure safe operation on industrial projects.

You will read and interpret drawings and specifications, maintain open lines of communication with the crew, and strive for high-quality, safe work while minimizing waste on demanding job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three to six years of experience in industrial/construction with heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive working relationships with crew.
• Produce high quality work safely and productively.
• Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work.
• Look for opportunities for improvement and be willing to learn from others.
• Continually share knowledge and teach others.
• High proficiency in equipment preventive maintenance.
• Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance with plans.
• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, and excess movement.
