Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Quarry) in Providence, RI. This entry role offers hands-on training with backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders, with potential advancement into drilling and blasting operations.

The position features an hourly wage of $20–$22, travel stipend, and opportunities to grow within a majority employee-owned ESOP company. Candidates must be safety-minded and able to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful.
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer.
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF.

Responsibilities

• Operate and learn heavy equipment as directed by Superintendents or Drill Operators.
• Maintain safety and adapt to weather conditions.
• Support travel and overtime as required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe operation of equipment.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and execute as directed by Foreman.
• Assist with coordinating supplies and paperwork.
• Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
