Job summary

APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Construction, a CRH company, seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely run excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders and backhoes on diverse job sites in Kansas. The role requires adherence to OSHA/MSHA safety rules and cooperation with foremen and teammates.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of relevant experience or training; a high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory, and a valid driver's license with possible hazmat/tanker endorsements may be needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform all essential functions of the job to a satisfactory standard.
• High School diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of construction equipment and machinery—such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes—efficiently and safely across different job sites.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.
• Report issues or incidents promptly to supervisors or management.
• Adhere to daily assignments and project expectations from the Foreman.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and report major problems.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and required documentation.
• Help train less-experienced team members in equipment operation, servicing, and repair.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned.
