Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. in Texas is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for heavy civil construction projects.

You will operate one or more power construction machines, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety procedures to protect crew and property. You will coordinate with team members, review site plans, and document daily activities while adhering to NCCER certifications and company standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as an equipment operator.
• A valid CDL when operating on public roads.
• A copy of the Medical Examiner's Certificate on file before operation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations, NCCER Highway / Heavy Construction, NCCER Rigger, NCCER Site Layout are preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline, diesel, pneumatic or electric powered equipment to move objects or material according to project specifications.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities and move loads as directed by crew signals.
• Calculate slopes and grades of materials and ensure safety around underground utilities.
• Perform daily inspections and document results in maintenance logs.
