Exciting Opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Operator in Olathe, KS!

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Olathe, KS. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery for street and dirt work projects. Location: Olathe, KS
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Conditions: Outdoor/Construction Environment
Travel: Local job sites as needed
Telecommute: No
Pay: $25.00 - $30 per hour based on experience
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Position Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery such as loaders, dozers, graders, and excavators to complete street and dirt work projects. You will play a key role in ensuring work is completed accurately, safely, and on time.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery including dozers, graders, backhoes, and excavators.

• Perform street construction, grading, and site prep dirt work.

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.

• Follow project plans, job site safety rules, and supervisor instructions.

• Maintain a clean and organized job site.

• Assist with manual labor tasks when not operating equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent .

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or dirt work.

• Ability to read and follow construction plans is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license required; CDL but not required.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic.

Skills Required:

• Proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment.

• Strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment limits.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively.

• Problem-solving and decision-making skills in the field.

• Team player with flexibility to assist wherever needed on-site.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves regular physical activity, including sitting for long periods while operating equipment, standing, bending, lifting, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Internal and External Interaction:

This role requires regular interaction with site supervisors, team members, and occasionally vendors or inspectors to ensure project completion.
