Loader Operator - Grand Junction, Elam Construction 1 (Finance)

Overview

Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Grand Junction, CO
Reports To: Plant Manager

Summit Materials is seeking a mechanically inclined, safety-conscious Loader Operator to operate front-end loaders in a Sand and Gravel or Asphalt Manufacturing Environment. Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to support daily plant production and operations.
• Assist the plant supervisor with daily operations and maintenance.
• Inspect plant areas for belt repairs, screen changes, bearing replacements, and other maintenance tasks.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, responding appropriately.
• Work evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience operating large aggregate machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
• Knowledge of welding and general mechanics is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, operational strategies, and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Understanding of MSHA regulations.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
