Job summary

EMR USA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to move metal throughout the yard using a material handler, excavator, skid steer, forklift, and other equipment. The role requires independent work to complete daily tasks.

The operator will perform daily equipment checks, light maintenance, and adhere to safety protocols while operating in an outdoor yard environment, potentially lifting up to 50 pounds and working in variable weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.

EMR USA has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator. In this role, the Equipment Operator will operate a material handler or excavator, skid steer, forklift and other equipment to move metal throughout the yard. To be successful, the Equipment Operator must be able to work independently to accomplish daily tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate front end loader to safely and efficiently move/load/unload material
• Complete all required daily equipment reports
• Perform daily maintenance and inspection on equipment
• Adhere to operating and health and safety protocols
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in all elements such as rain, cold, and heat
• Ability to handle stressful situations, manages time, and multitasks
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening

Education & Experience

• High School graduate or G.E.D.

• Previous experience using a material handler and/or excavator a plus

Other Job Demands

While performing the essential functions of this job, the Equipment Operator will be working in an outdoor environment. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts and will be exposed to all weather conditions. The noise level in the environment can be loud and will require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. This job also requires frequent bending, kneeling, and standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
