Role Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site position located in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment used in underground utility installation, including excavation and trenching for water, sewer, storm drainage, and related systems. Day-to-day tasks include reading and following project plans, coordinating with site supervisors and crew members, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Heavy Equipment Operator will perform basic equipment inspections, report mechanical issues, and support routine maintenance to ensure reliable operation. This position also involves adhering to safety protocols, following company procedures, and contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong equipment operation skills, including experience with Heavy Equipment and safe Equipment Operation on utility construction sites.
• Candidates should possess practical Excavation skills, including trenching, grading, and working around underground utilities.
• Candidates should possess hands-on Equipment Maintenance skills, including basic inspection, troubleshooting, and care of Used Equipment.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; commercial drivers license (CDL) is a plus.
• Knowledge of construction site safety practices and ability to follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Prior experience in utility construction or heavy civil construction is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational or technical training is beneficial.
