Job summary

Amrize in Florence, CO USA is seeking a Quarry Operator to run mobile mining equipment at the Portland Cement Plant. You will operate drills, loaders, bulldozers, haul trucks, water trucks, and graders, and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include monitoring drilling quality, adjusting mining patterns, and supporting the plant safety program through daily safety contacts and safety meetings. Two-shift operation is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Amrize is seeking a Quarry Operator at its Portland Cement Plant in Colorado to operate the mobile equipment required to mine rock, including rock drills, wheel loaders, bulldozers, haul trucks and water trucks, motor graders, fuel tankers and hydraulic rock breakers. The operator performs mechanical maintenance checkouts, troubleshoots breakdowns and does minor preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, monitors and reacts to quality issues such as sampling drill holes and adjusting the mining pattern, and supports the plant safety program through day-to-day safety contacts and department safety meetings. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and one year of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment; the position operates on a two-shift basis, and applications are accepted until 11/15/2026.
