Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for a large-scale roadway and civil construction project at Anniston Army Depot in Alabama. The role requires operating multiple pieces of heavy equipment—bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and ADTs—across earthmoving, grading, and site development tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience on civil or roadway projects, is OSHA certified, and able to transition between machines as needs evolve.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy equipment experience on civil/roadway projects.
• Experience operating dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and articulated dump trucks.
• Experience with grading, earthmoving and site preparation.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate multiple heavy equipment types including dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and ADTs.
• Perform earthmoving, grading, excavation and site prep.
• Move and stockpile soil and construction materials across the site.
• Support rough and finish grading for roadways and site development.
• Assist with excavation, trenching and utility installation support.
• Maintain elevations and slopes per project specs.
• Coordinate with survey crews and project managers to maintain schedules.
• Navigate active construction zones safely and follow haul routes.
• Complete daily inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns and ensure OSHA/USACE compliance.
• Assist with additional site operations as needed.

Insight Global is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to support a large-scale roadway and civil construction project at Anniston Army Depot in Alabama. This individual will be responsible for operating multiple types of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and articulated dump trucks, to support earthmoving, grading, excavation, roadway construction, and site development activities throughout the project. The ideal candidate has a strong background operating various pieces of heavy equipment on heavy civil, roadway, earthwork, or site development projects and can transition between equipment as project needs evolve. Experience performing grading, excavation, material movement, and site preparation activities is highly preferred. This is a fully on-site opportunity requiring 5, 8-10 hour shifts daily.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment, including dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and articulated dump trucks
• Perform earthmoving, excavation, grading, site preparation, and roadway construction activities
• Move, stockpile, spread, and load soil, aggregate, gravel, rock, and other construction materials throughout the project site
• Support rough and finish grading operations for roadways, embankments, drainage systems, and site development projects
• Assist with excavation activities, trenching, utility installation support, and backfilling operations
• Utilize grading techniques to maintain proper elevations, slopes, and site specifications
• Work closely with survey crews, superintendents, project managers, and other equipment operators to maintain production schedules
• Navigate active construction zones safely while adhering to designated haul routes and site traffic plans
• Complete daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance checks
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, USACE, and company safety standards
• Assist with additional site operations and equipment needs as required

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of experience operating heavy equipment on heavy civil, roadway, earthwork, site development, or infrastructure construction projects
• Experience operating multiple pieces of equipment, including a combination of dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and/or articulated dump trucks
• Ability to perform excavation, grading, material movement, and site preparation work
• Understanding of site elevations, grading principles, and earthmoving operations
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• Experience operating GPS machine control systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica, or similar)
• Experience performing rough and finish grading
• Experience working on federal construction projects
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
