Job summary

Gregory Construction is seeking skilled operators to join our on-site crew for civil, industrial, and commercial projects across West Virginia. You’ll operate heavy equipment, help grade and level roadbeds, and collaborate with a diverse team on shifting schedules and outdoor conditions.

We value a strong work ethic, safety, and teamwork. Applicants must have 3+ years in civil construction, 2+ years operating heavy equipment, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in civil construction.
• At least 2 years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening (including drug screen and background check).
• Strong work ethic and team-first mindset.
• Takes safety seriously and communicates well with the crew.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to move dirt, rock, and other materials.
• Spread, grade, and level materials on roadbeds and job sites.
• Read grade and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
• Coordinate with crew members using hand and audio signals.
• Load and transport materials using equipment and trucks.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and assist with minor equipment repairs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexible hours (including nights/weekends as needed).
• Follow all safety rules, company policies, and jobsite procedures.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or incidents to your supervisor.
