Job summary

Foley Materials Company is hiring a heavy equipment operator to support its surface mining operations. The role involves safely operating haul trucks, loaders, excavators, and dozers to mine and move material through the plant, while maintaining haul roads and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.

We seek candidates with proven experience in heavy mining equipment, strong teamwork, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy mining equipment and safely maneuvering loads.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically capable of the job.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety on the job in line with MSHA and company policies.
• Operate off-road heavy equipment (haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers) to mine and move material.
• Perform pre/post-operation inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Monitor vehicle fluids and add required fluids to keep equipment in good condition.
• Observe plant operations, report unsafe conditions, and coordinate with team members to meet timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:

• In accordance with MSHA and Company policies/procedures, take aproactive role in prioritizing safety on the job for yourself andothers.
• Operate off road heavy equipment in a surface mining environment,including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, to mine and movematerial throughout the plant, and maintain haul roads in a safe andefficient manner.
• Conduct pre and post-operation inspections of equipment andperform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed to ensureequipment is in good working condition.
• Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels,and adding correct fluids as necessary
• Monitor the plant and operations and report any unsafe behaviors,unsafe conditions, required maintenance, etc.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations andproject timelines met
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

What You Will Need:

• Experience operating heavy mining equipment with the ability tosafely and accurately/smoothly maneuver and complete various tasks,such as loading, dumping and transporting raw materials; maintaininghaul roads.
• Ability to recognize, understand and adhere to safety regulations,policies and procedures
• 2+ years operating heavy equipment in a surface mine orconstruction environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Physical ability to climb ladders, sit for extended periods andwithstand vibrations
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
