Job summary

FoleyMaterials Company is hiring an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in the Alabama area. You will operate heavy construction and mining equipment, including haul trucks and loaders, and support plant operations while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy construction/mining equipment - 1–2 years.
  • Experience operating a haul truck or loader - 1–2 years.
  • Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as production needs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical maintenance on excavator and other heavy equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Take proactive role in prioritizing safety on the job for yourself and others.
  • Operate off road heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers to mine and move material and maintain haul roads.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Monitor the plant and operations and report unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, necessary maintenance, etc.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and project timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • In accordance with MSHA and Company standards, take aproactive role in prioritizing safety on the job for yourself and others.
  • Operate off road heavy equipment including haul trucks,loaders, excavators, dozers, to mine and move material andmaintain haul roads

Experience and Skills:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience operating heavy construction/mining equipment - 1-2 years
  • Experience operating a haul truck or loader required - 1 - 2 years
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours dependingon production need.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanicalmaintenance on excavator, other heavy equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work wellwith other team members.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and invarious weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work up to 12 hour shift
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework,equipment, stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feelobjects on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to comply will all safety standards and procedures
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on afrequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)(including but not limited to hard hat, steel toed boots, gloves,safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
