Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. in Del Rio, TX seeks a Fueler/Oiler to support field operations. The role performs fueling, greasing, and routine maintenance on heavy equipment on busy job sites.

The candidate will hold a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, and will complete work orders while following OEM oil-change guidelines and safety protocols in varying weather conditions. This is a full-time position requiring long hours and physical effort.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years fueling/oiling heavy equipment.
  • Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
  • Daily fueling, greasing and fluid checks on equipment.
  • Perform oil changes per OEM guidelines.
  • Complete work orders for machine service and daily activities.
  • Maintain Fuel/Lube truck to peak operating condition.
  • Reads and follows oil chart.
  • Understand safety hazards of work.

Responsibilities

  • Fuel and oil heavy equipment on job sites.
  • Perform routine oil changes on equipment.
  • Maintain and operate Fuel/Lube truck.
  • Complete all work orders/daily tasks.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner:

  • At least 2yrs of experience fueling and oiling heavy equipment.
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement.
  • Daily fueling, greasing and fluid level checks on all job site equipment.
  • Perform oil changes on equipment as per OEM Guidelines and as directed by the Equipment Superintendent.
  • Complete all work orders associated with machine services and daily activities.
  • Maintain Fuel/Lube truck to perform at peak operating level and ensure it meets all safety and compliance criteria.
  • Utilizes small assortment of hand tools to complete tasks.
  • Reads and follows oil chart.
  • Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
  • Keeps lube truck clean and well maintained.
  • Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
  • Ability to correctly rig and hoist material.
  • Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
  • Ability to maintain balance.
  • Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).
  • Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
