Job summary

BARNARD CONSTRUCTION is seeking a Heavy Equipment Oiler in Deming, NM. The role fuels, oils, and maintains on-site heavy equipment, performing oil changes and fluid checks per OEM guidelines under the supervision of the Equipment Superintendent. CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements is preferred; safety is essential.

The position requires 50–70 hours per week when needed, and the Fuel/Lube truck must be kept in peak condition. A valid driver license is required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years fueling and oiling heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
• Daily fueling, greasing and fluid level checks on job-site equipment.
• Perform oil changes on equipment per OEM guidelines.
• Complete work orders for machine services and daily activities.
• Maintain Fuel/Lube truck for peak operating condition and safety compliance.
• Reads and follows oil chart.
• Understands safety hazards of work.

Responsibilities

• Exert heavy physical effort; handle objects up to 25 pounds.
• Able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
• Rig and hoist materials safely.

• Utilizes small assortment of hand tools to complete tasks.
• Reads and follows oil chart.
• Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
• Keeps lube truck clean and well maintained.
• Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
• Ability to correctly rig and hoist material.
• Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
• Ability to maintain balance.
• Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).
• Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
